Many persons served by legal aid programs in Missouri may be facing eviction and are unable to get an attorney. Sadly, we do not have the resources to serve all those who seek our help.
We are providing a link to the https://motenanthelp.org that can help self-represented persons defend themselves. The website can produce a document which a tenant can file with the court where their eviction is pending. Additionally, the website has tons of helpful information about evictions.
In the modern world, most of us will rely on electronic banking in some form or another. Whether it’s using a card to pay for items in shops, or online transfers, we seamlessly use a blend of digital finance tools and cash in our everyday lives. Unfortunately, this means that there is also a myriad of ways that scammers can target consumers, especially if they are a high-risk group. And with so many different scams doing the rounds, it can be hard to keep track of what you’re meant to look out for.
When it comes to online banking, we could all do with a helping hand. Whether it’s setting up accounts or keeping track of spending, this shift to digitised money management is difficult for a lot of people to get their heads around. In particular, older generations who have spent their lives banking in the traditional way may struggle to adopt the modern approach, with concerns around safety or technological barriers often preventing seniors from making the most of online banking.

Urban homesteading is a unique opportunity for individuals with construction skills and/or experience in home repair to acquire and rehab homes in poor condition. Eligible properties are truly abandoned and cannot be purchased or otherwise acquired. The houses must be:
1. Vacant for at least six months continuously;
2. Delinquent on taxes for at least two years; and
3. A nuisance (property should have open codes violations).

There are a variety of pro bono programs in Missouri. Some are funded by state and federal funds such as the four Legal Services Corporation programs, some are affiliated with social service agencies, some are affiliated with circuit courts, some are limited in scope such as disaster response, some are affiliated with law schools, and some are affiliated with a single church or local agency usually involving one volunteer attorney.
Malpractice Protection for Pro Bono Attorneys
For retired, government and corporate attorneys, lack of malpractice insurance is a major barrier to volunteering (Supporting Justice II, A Report on the Pro Bono Work of America's Lawyers, The ABA Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service, February 2009).
