LSC Awards Grant to Update the Missouri Legal Aid Program’s Website
October 19, 2020 WASHINGTON – The Legal Services Corporation (LSC) announced today that it is awarding Technology Initiative Grants (TIG) to 24 legal services organizations totaling $3,941,298. The TIG program funds technology projects that provide greater access to high-quality legal assistance and information for low-income Americans.
The Legal Services Corporation Releases "The Data Underlying Legal Aid Programs"
WASHINGTON – The Legal Services Corporation (LSC) today released “By the Numbers: The Data Underlying Legal Aid Programs.” The report provides an annual overview of the work undertaken by LSC-funded legal aid organizations around the country in the prior year. It includes data on the number of cases closed, details on the types of legal services provided, client demographics and more. The report includes both national and state-level data and allows for comparisons over time and across different geographic areas.

Legal Services Corporation Expected to Receive $25 Million Funding Boost
WASHINGTON – The House finalized text of FY2021 appropriations legislation today that includes $465 million for the Legal Services Corporation (LSC). This would be $25 million more than LSC’s FY 2020 appropriation of $440 million, a 5.7% increase. The bill is expected to pass the House today and go to the Senate tomorrow. President Trump is expected to sign the legislation. If passed, this would be the largest appropriation in actual dollars in LSC’s history.
The Legal Services Corporation Receives $25 Million Spending Boost
The Legal Services Corporation (LSC) received $465 million in the omnibus FY 2021 appropriations legislation signed into law at the end of December, a $25 million boost from last year. This is the largest appropriation in actual dollars in LSC’s history. LSC was not included in the COVID-19 relief package, although the bill did include rental assistance and extended the eviction moratorium through January 31.

LSC Requests Supplemental Funding for the American Jobs Plan
WASHINGTON – The Legal Services Corporation (LSC) is requesting that supplemental funding in the range of $350-500 million be included in the infrastructure package addressing the American Jobs Plan introduced by President Biden on March 31.   LSC is the primary funder of legal aid programs across the nation.
LSSM - Golfing for Justice Pro-Am - Springfield, Missouri
Legal Services of Southern Missouri (LSSM) is hosting its annual Golfing for Justice Pro-Am on Monday, July 26, 2021, at Millwood Golf & Racquet Club. This four person Pro-Am is a Price Cutter Charity Championship (PCCC) event. Team sponsorship includes one foursome in the Pro-Am, recognition in the PCCC Spectator Guide (15,000 printed), recognition on Pro-Am sign, and a corporate ticket package. Each player will also receive a gift package.
