LSEM - The Hon. Richard B. Teitelman Memorial CLE Seminar
The annual Hon. Richard B. Teitelman Memorial CLE Seminar, will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, 1:00pm - 5:00pm.  It will be hosted virtually this year by the Simon Law Firm, P.C. This CLE has 4.8 Hours of Missouri & Illinois CLE credits pending, including 1.2 hours of Ethics and 1.2 hours of Implicit Bias/Diversity. CLICK HERE for a copy of the CLE Agenda. Justice Speaks - Featuring Ben Jealous
Join us on Saturday, November 6, 2021 for a special celebration of Legal Services of Eastern Missouri’s 65th Anniversary, featuring national civil rights advocate and speaker, Ben Jealous. The gala evening includes complimentary valet parking, cocktail hour, three-course dinner, full open bar and, keynote address by Ben Jealous. This event is 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm, at the Hyatt Regency at the Arch in St. Louis. The evening commences with a Cocktail Hour, followed by dinner served at 6pm and Keynote Address at 7pm.  Full Open Bar available till 9pm.
LSC Grants Disaster Response Funds to Legal Aid of Western Missouri
WASHINGTON – The Legal Services Corporation (LSC) announced today that three legal aid organizations will receive grants totaling $1 million to help low-income communities respond to the impact of COVID-19. LSC’s Midwest Legal Disaster Coordination Project funds efforts to address crucial disaster-related legal needs by establishing partnerships among legal services providers, volunteer attorneys and disaster response organizations. This funding will support the work of LSC grantees in Minnesota, Missouri and Montana and suppleme

Clean Slate - Expungement Webinar
A new Missouri law will make it easier for some people to get their criminal records cleared.  The new law goes into effect August 27, 2021, greatly expanding expungement eligibility in Missouri. Expungement Is the legal procedure for people previously convicted of nonviolent, low-level offenses to seal the public record and get a fresh start. The new law reduces the waiting period which opens eligibility to thousands of people.
Missouri law will change requirements for some record expungements
