If you are a grandparent raising grandchildren, you are not alone: 5.8 million U.S. children under 18 live in grandparent-headed households (Census 2010). LSSM has prepared the document below to provide you some information concerning your legal options in raising your grandchildren.

If you’ve held a 9-5 job, you’ve likely heard of social security. This federal program serves as a sort-of savings account that older Americans can tap into to provide income for their retirement. While most people associate social security with retirement benefits, it also provides disability benefits and support for family members who lose a spouse or parent.
Many Missouri elderly adults are abused or neglected everyday. If you suspect that an elderly person is at risk, it’s important to speak up by calling 1-800-286-3932.
