What is the Hot Weather Rule? The Hot Weather Rule prohibits utilities from disconnecting residential electricity service due to nonpayment of a utility bill during times of extreme heat.
What is the Cold Weather Rule? The Cold Weather Rule prohibits a utility company from disconnecting gas or electric utility service that is necessary to operate home heating equipment (such as a furnace) due to nonpayment of a utility bill during times of extreme cold.
When abuse or neglect is suspected, children can be taken into custody and placed in emergency placement until a meeting and court hearing can be held. LSSM has prepared a document that will assist in your understanding of the juvenile court sysytem.
