LAWMO Receives $160K Mental Health Grant

Legal Aid is the proud recipient of a generous $160,116 grant from the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City (HCF) to fund our Mental Healthcare Access Project.  Legal Aid and HCF are partnering to help clients experiencing mental illness secure public benefits by supporting a full-time attorney who provides representation, brief legal advice, and counsel.  The grant is part of the $4.45 million awarded to 28 nonprofit organizations through HCF’s 2018 Mental Health funding. HCF received a total of 74 proposals totaling nearly $15 million in requests.
