LAWMO Hires New Executive Director
We’re excited to share that Amber Christ will be joining Legal Aid of Western Missouri as our next Executive Director, beginning April 13, 2026!
Amber’s story with Legal Aid comes full circle. She started her legal career here as a staff attorney, where she developed a deep commitment to expanding access to justice. She later returned to serve on our Board of Trustees for five years — and now she’s coming back to lead the organization.
For the past thirteen years, Amber has been at Justice in Aging, serving as Managing Director of Health Advocacy. She led national efforts to expand access to health care for older adults with limited resources, built a strong and passionate team, and helped drive reforms that improved care for hundreds of thousands of people across the country. She brings energy, experience, and a collaborative, can-do leadership style to this role.
Amber steps into the position as Alicia Johnson retires after 15 years of leadership that strengthened and expanded Legal Aid’s impact throughout western Missouri. We’re grateful for Alicia’s extraordinary service — and look forward to this next chapter.
